My Students

My class surprises me every day with everything that they can do, and all the fun ways that they can do it. They enjoy hands-on activities, but are improving their abilities to read, write and do math! We are focused on expressive writing this year, and are learning many different ways to express ourselves through writing. The students share their ideas, verbally, visually, and through traditional writing. We are hoping to improve our writing over the course of this year, share our experiences, and one day get published!

My Project

My students access information in many different ways, so a wide variety of materials are necessary for their success. Currently, we have been using manipulative blocks as well as virtual manipulatives on computer programs, but more hands-on materials will help them learn topics such as area, perimeter, and algebra.

Students are so proud when they can see that they were physically able to complete something.

The learning locks are a great way for the students to show understanding of the concept of addition. The Math Instant Learning Centers will ensure that I can engage all my different learners. The Build & Learn Geometry Kits are perfect for our Unit on Area, as well as shape identification.
