This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We'll be having a Family Math Night at our school. One of the activities we'll be providing is a 100s activity. This activity will have students and their families count and thread 100 beads on to a string. Students will be able to see what 100 beads look like. They will count the beads out in groups of ten which will help them learn to count by 1s, count by multiples of 10s and to make 10 in various ways as they count out the groups of ten beads.
Students will learn that math is fun and engaging through this hands on activity.
Our students and families enjoy our Family Nights because they have fun learning in a different way and get to share the experience with their loved ones. We will all appreciate these materials for our Math Night.
