Help me give my students the tools to create interdisciplinary math and music projects.

My Project
Have you watched videos with math songs like School House Rock or NumberRock? These songs use music and melody to make math concepts more engaging and easier to remember. As a child, I watched it all the time, and to this day, I still skip count by 3s by singing the tune.
Often in school, we create an artificial separation between the arts and math, but I would like my students to be able to fuse them in writing their own math songs and learning to play them on the guitar.
I would begin with basic chords because they are more approachable for beginners. These smaller guitars would allow them to hold them better than a standard sized guitar and build their fine motor skills and coordination. Learning the guitar is also something that students from low SES would likely not have access to, so it would create more equity in their education with that of more affluent students.
As a bonus, music is a great literacy strategy for ESL students because it shows more context and limits vocabulary into more manageable chunks. Learning the guitar would also allow for multi-lingual students to create songs in different languages.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
