My Students

I teach 6th grade Mathematics and Science at a low income city school. We are a Title 1 school and the students receive a free breakfast and lunch daily. Many of our students are economically disadvantaged and are raised by extended family. My students come to school each day eager to learn and I am eager to teach. Since I teach in a city school where budgets and funding are extremely tight and I try to give my students everything they need to succeed. Education changes from year to year and I want to students to be able to keep up with the rigor that they deserve.

My Project

The materials which I requested will help my students out dramatically. My students are in need of supplemental materials to help them with the common core curriculum. Also, the supplemental materials which my students use are not always consumable and the students have no way to use them since they are not allowed to write on the material, which is why the pouches will be an amazing resource so my students can solve the work and erase when they are done. My students also need a more "earth- friendly" way of showing their work which is why the white board and markers will be another great tool to have in my classroom.
