My Project

The rug will create a designated, comfortable space for small-group intervention sessions where students can focus on math concepts without distractions. This cozy area encourages collaboration and discussion, making math more approachable for students. It will also serve as a space for peer discussions and demonstrations of problem-solving strategies.

Whiteboard markers, erasers, and a portable whiteboard will be invaluable for students to work through math problems in real time.

The whiteboard allows for a hands-on, tactile experience where students can write and quickly adjust their work without fear of permanent mistakes. This instant feedback loop is particularly beneficial for students who must experiment and refine their thinking.

The portable whiteboard will allow me to model strategies and problem-solving approaches from different areas of the classroom, allowing for dynamic teaching that meets students where they are. It also makes it easy for me to move between groups and tailor my support to individual needs, whether visualizing concepts or guiding students through step-by-step problem-solving.

The goal is to ensure every student in the math intervention class has access to a variety of learning modalities—whether they learn best through writing, talking, or collaborating with peers. By using the rug for small group discussions and the whiteboard tools for individualized practice, we aim to create an environment where students can confidently build their math skills at their own pace. Ultimately, we want to help students grow from below-grade-level performance to mastering foundational math concepts through hands-on practice, visual aids, and interactive engagement.
