My Students

Many of my kiddos come from low income households. Our school is a title 1 school and despite financial strains my kiddos are eager to connect with me and other students. They come into my room excited to be at school and ready to show me what they know! We work to learn and grow as readers, authors, and mathematicians.

My second graders are capable of ANYTHING, but with your help, we can do even more.

Unfortunately, I am a first year, second grade teacher in a Title I school and I am low on the appropriate resources to help my kiddos reach their maximum potential. Please help us with the supplies necessary to help students at all levels reach their goals. All of your love and support can help! We will use these for solo and group projects that help us become stronger mathematicians and mathematical thinkers . Thank you in advance for your love and support!

My Project

My kiddos are an extremely diverse group of young individuals from different walks of life. My students are all creative, thoughtful, very innovative, and full of questions when it comes to learning! They absolutely LOVE hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They show up to school every day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically!

I want to create a math center for my students to have a blast into math with.

I'm hoping to expand their mathematical thinking! The materials in the project will help my students build a love of math through hands-on and engaging activities.

Math can be challenging, so when the usual explanations and strategies don't work, what's a teacher to do? Create a math library of sorts so they can have access to math games and materials! I will use these materials to develop, refine, and enhance the math levels of my students. I will offer students time during math to use the centers to provide an experiential learning opportunity. Children who claim to not like math will now find an engaging, 'friendly' entry into the subject via the math materials in our centers.
