My Students

My students are hungry to learn! They are curious and capable, but they need the resources to help them!

My students are in the 5th grade and have a variety of learning styles, and learning challenges.

They love to learn and are proud of what they know, however they lack confidence in math.

Their lack of confidence comes from years of struggling with foundational math skills. It causes them to shut down when we transition to math or they are presented with a new subject. My goal is to boost their confidence so they are able to tackle new and more difficult subjects. Games and foundational knowledge have proved to be excellent confidence and engagement boosters in education. Your generous donation will help my students build the bedrock of a love for math, and develop the skills they need throughout the rest of their academic careers.

My Project

Student engagement is half the battle. My students have struggled with math for years before entering my 5th grade class. On the first day that I mentioned math I saw their faces fall, but then I followed it up with games. My room looked a tree lighting ceremony. Everyday since then my students have asked to play math games. They are excited and engaged for the first time in years.

With your support I will be able to foster my students love of math, to help them build necessary skills, and send them off to middle school as math experts.
