This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help my third-grade students become confident mathematicians by providing them with multiplication flashcards and individual geometry kits to make math fun, engaging, and accessible.

As a third-grade teacher, I am passionate about helping my students build a strong foundation in math.

Multiplication and geometry are critical skills at this grade level, but some of my students struggle to grasp these concepts without hands-on and interactive resources. My students are curious and creative, bringing diverse backgrounds and perspectives to our classroom community. They thrive when given opportunities to explore math through engaging and tactile activities.

What makes my students special is their eagerness to learn and determination to tackle challenges. Multiplication flashcards will provide daily practice through games, timed challenges, and peer activities, helping students master these essential facts. Geometry kits will give students tools like protractors and shape templates to explore shapes and angles hands-on. For example, students can measure angles or build 3D shapes, making abstract concepts more concrete and accessible.

The goal of this project is to build confidence and proficiency in math. During small group rotations, students will practice multiplication with flashcards while others engage with geometry kits to analyze shapes. These tools also support differentiated instruction, ensuring every student’s needs are met. By making math tangible and interactive, these resources will inspire a love for learning and set my students on a path for success. Thank you for helping my students become Math Masters!
