This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
With so much emphasis spent on Literacy, it is important we don't forget the important mathematical concepts that are foundational to creating future math geniuses!!! You can have a part in that!
My passion is teaching.
The Lord has blessed me so very much. I began teaching in 1995! I teach 19 energetic little boys and girls in an all-Kindergarten school. We have over 400 little 5 and 6 year old children eager to learn! Many of my children come from poverty. Seventy-five percent of our population receive free or reduced meals. Forty-five percent of our children are limited English students.
I am honored to provide them with opportunities daily to experience success, no matter what their background is! I have "inherited" many items that are in my classroom. I am attempting, through Donors Choose, to update my outdated Math Station materials.
My Project
The counting boxes include 10 different, exciting games that will support our math curriculum as well as enhance our thematic Science and Social Studies units! The materials will be used whole group and in small groups at the teacher table as well as part of our Math Stations.
An added bonus is that a storage rack is included with the set that will enable my students to keep the Math area neatly organized! The weighing/measurement center will provide an instant, visual grasp of beginning measurement concepts as well as teaching comparing and contrasting of objects.

Your generosity will provide my students with materials to guide them on their road to Mathematical success at a fun, engaging pace that suits them. My students and I would appreciate and greatly use the counting boxes games and weighing center daily. These items are not consumable, so with a little love & care, I would be able to use these items with future students as well! We're on our way to having a "Marvelous" Math Center!
