My Students

I teach in a school where the students want to learn. My students are creative and full of questions. They always ask why concepts work and how they relate. I have been fortunate to work with kids that want to see how the world around them works. Many of my students are visual and tactile learners. When they see how mathematics connects you can hear their brainpower at work.

My Project

The use of math manipulatives are very important during this time. All of my students work from home and many of them are in need of support to understand the concepts that are being taught. Math Manipulatives are essential to student engagement and learning during math time.

This project will provide manipulatives for students who are at home and do not have the resources.

Students are able to grasp concepts and explain their thinking using concrete objects. The Cricut will be used to create a Math toolbox package for each one of my students and their families. Items such as, foam tiles, reusable graph paper and family math activities will be created with the blades/tools and will be included in the students toolbox.

Packages will be sending out via mail to each student. These packages will not just have mathematics materials but also positive messages to provide motivation for each of my students.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand from their own homes while seeing it on the screen while having a little joy receiving these supplies.
