Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how excited my students are to learn, especially when they get to explore concepts through hands-on activities. Their curiosity, enthusiasm, and determination to succeed make teaching them such a joy. They approach every new challenge with creativity and a willingness to grow, which inspires me to provide engaging and meaningful learning experiences.

The items I’m requesting will transform our math center into a dynamic space where students can actively explore foundational math concepts.

Geometric solids will help them visualize 3D shapes and their properties, while pretend money will make lessons on counting, addition, and subtraction more practical and relatable. The math floor game, pattern blocks, and ten-frame toys will make abstract concepts like numbers, operations, and spatial relationships engaging and interactive. Tools like the number locks and clip-and-flashcard sets will build their fine motor skills while reinforcing counting and problem-solving.

My goal for this project is to provide resources that encourage hands-on exploration, build confidence, and develop critical thinking skills. These materials will allow my students to approach math in a way that is fun, tactile, and deeply enriching.

What makes my students special is their resilience and dedication to learning. Many of them are emergent bilinguals, balancing the challenges of mastering a new language with academic demands. Despite these challenges, they come to school every day eager to learn and grow. These tools will provide them with opportunities to succeed and celebrate their progress.
