This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm a Special Education teacher working in integrated math classrooms. Quite often, my students with math anxiety (both special education and general education) get frustrated by basic concepts they've forgotten.

These manipulatives will give me a fast and memorable way to reteach foundation skills so that my students can continue to learn higher level math concepts with their classmates.

Manipulatives are one of the fastest and most efficient ways to teach mathematical concepts, and reach both visual and kinethetic learners. I want to be able to help small groups or individual students relearn core concepts such dealing with fractions, decimals, and factors quickly. They can then rejoin the rest of the class in learning algebra II, geometry, and problem solving.
