My Students

I work with an amazingly diverse and talented group of scholars. All of the students that I support have a disability supported by an IEP and/or are an English Language Learning student. While they may come to school each day with their own challenges, they persevere through the middle school years, which are not easy for anyone!

Literacy is vital for student growth and future success.

I want some books that focus literacy skills around math content so my students can work to strengthen their reading and speaking skills. I love being able to blend content area skills to maximize the work I do with my special education students!

My Project

I want books that are themed in math in order to work on my student's reading and writing skills while I have them in math class daily.

My students have special education plans and need additional time each day to work on reading and writing in order to work towards closing the grade level gap between them and their peers.

These books will be used to reinforce math concepts that we learn through the 5th and 6th grade standards. The books also include some math activity books from other cultures where students can explore math activities from their own or their peer's home culture.
