Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Math in literature? Yes, indeed! This project aims to increase both math and reading performance through the purchase of materials for engaging, hands-on, cross-curricular lessons.

Located in a large district on Florida, we are a Title 1 school of just over 700 students in grades K-3.

Our students are primarily from low-income households and over 50% of the students are enrolled in the English as a Foreign Language program. We are a diverse Inclusion model classroom within the school, comprised of Special Education students of varying exceptionalities, English Language Learners, and general education students who are being retained.

My Project

This project seeks to integrate two important components of the curriculum: math and reading. Students will be introduced to standards-based mathematical concepts through literature. Manipulatives, like tangrams, will help reinforce these skills by allowing students a hands-on approach to skill mastery.

This project is like a two-for-one deal, and well, who doesn't like that?
