My Students

For the majority of my students, school is their safe zone. My classroom is the one place they know they can come to and feel secure and supported. My goal is to mold my classroom into a comfortable space that will allow their inquisitive minds to flourish.

My Project

As a math teacher, I often find myself searching for multiple techniques to teach my students. My students learn best when I present them with a plethora of strategies and ideas - when I've hit a wall, I often turn to math literature.

Books about math allow them to see how what we are learning in our classroom can be connected to the world they see outside of our school.

Simply learning how to robotically go through a formula or use a standard algorithm just isn't enough! I am asking for a mixture of "reading for fun" books and math books because I want my students not only to learn their math skills, but I want them to make connections between the math we learn and the real world. I'm also asking for a book stamp so I can identify the books that belong in my library.
