My Project

These binders can help students organize and own their strategies for mathematics and literacy! Students will have the opportunity to choose and record strategies that work best for them and take notes that highlight their own challenges. For example, they will label each divider by mathematical operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). As they learn how to multiply fractions and decimals, the strategies students discover will be recorded in the multiplication section of their binders.

Students will be able to record their favorite strategies for solving problems, including labeling and highlighting challenging parts, and then refer back to the binder as needed.

The same goes for literacy. Students will learn reading strategies, such as visualization or context clues, as well as strategies for understanding vocabulary, grammar, and spelling. Students will be able to record strategies that help them understand and connect with language, as well as examples from their reading or everyday life.

This project will help enrich the student learning experience by encouraging ownership and organization of ideas to deepen understanding.
