My Students

I teach Kindergarten to Second Grade Autistic Support. My students range in developmental levels from pre-k to on-grade level. Some of my students are in the Autistic Support Classroom 80-90% of the day, while other students are in Regular Education Classroom 80-90% of the day with the Autistic Support Classroom used for sensory breaks when the student becomes overwhelmed. Our school is an inner city school where our students come from various cultural backgrounds. My students are a loving and energetic group who need additional support with interpersonal communication, social skills and self-regulation.

My Project

With the varying levels and grades of the students within my classroom, individual and small group instruction during math is the most effective and efficient way to reach all students at their instructional level. After receiving their individual or small group instruction, my students rotate through a series of centers that allow for independent practice of instructional material as well as a spiral review of mastered content to maintain those skills.

Kindergarten to Second Grade math curriculum is very diverse and covers a lot of different content areas.

As a result, my students require additional materials for their learning centers to meet all their needs. Thank you for your donation to our school, my students, and my classroom!
