Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine going to school and not being able to complete an assignment because you can't read the words. Well, this is the case for many of my students because either they don't speak English or have learning disabilities. However, my students would benefit from math games created just for them with visuals and in their native language. This can be made possible by creating math games and visuals on my computer, printing them in color, laminating them for durability, and cutting them.

My curious students want to learn and do well in math and providing them with hands-on activities and games gives them an opportunity to do this.

My students are amazing because they come to school every day ready to learn despite their challenges. They are willing to try new things and challenge themselves in any way they can. I would like to make their learning opportunities greater by providing them with student-centered math games and activities to meet their individual needs.

A quality color printer would make a difference in my students' learning on a daily basis. My students love using materials that are unique to their learning needs such as visuals and/or written in their native language. It would also assist in creating math fact worksheets, games, and activities to help them learn.

This project would provide every student in my math classes with individualized math games to meet their specific needs. For example, the ELLs can be playing the same game as their English-speaking classmates with visuals and language to meet their needs. These games would be printed on the color printer, laminated, and cut. This would help the students learn and have fun at the same time.
