Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever sat in a class where the teacher talks for hours? If it's challenging for adults to endure this type of setting, you can imagine how a five year old feels.

I teach at a public school where most of my students come from impoverished homes.

Many of them qualify for free meals at our school. Despite their environment, my kindergarteners are enthusiastic learners. They are eager and excited to grow academically.

My Project

My students can benefit from math manipulatives and games. They will help them learn math in a fun and interactive way! These resources can reinforce skills such: addition, subtraction, number recognition and comparisons. The number dice, number matching game, addition fact cards, and number bean bags are great resources for math stations.

I realize it's challenging to expect a kindergartener to sit and listen for long periods at a time.

Therefore, using manipulative is essential for hands-on learning. These manipulatives will allow my students to learn in a fun way.
