My Project

I teach a diverse group of students in grades K-5, each with unique learning styles and needs. My goal is to make math both accessible and engaging for all of them, helping each student develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Whether they are just beginning to explore numbers or are diving deeper into more complex concepts, I strive to provide a learning environment that fosters growth, creativity, and a love for learning. By incorporating hands-on tools like 1-inch tile counters and base ten blocks, stored in pencil boxes, I aim to make math come alive for my students, giving them the opportunity to connect with the material in a meaningful way.

Using 1-inch tile counters and base ten blocks will give my students a tactile, visual way to explore key mathematical concepts across grade levels.

The 1-inch tile counters will help students understand counting, addition, and subtraction by physically moving and grouping the tiles, making abstract concepts more concrete. Base ten blocks will be essential in building a solid foundation for place value, as students can visually and physically manipulate the blocks to understand units, tens, hundreds, and beyond. These hands-on tools will engage students in active learning, helping them develop a deeper understanding of math concepts, while also making learning more fun and accessible for students of all ages.
