This project is for an iPad for my math classroom. I currently teach using a document camera at the front of my room. Using the document camera is great because students can see what I'm doing in real time; however, it severely limits how I am able to move around the room and check on students to make sure they are staying on task and taking good notes. In order to check on students, I have to stop what I am doing on the board and take a lap around the room.
With an iPad, I will be able to both move around the room to keep students on task, as well as take notes for the whole class to see on the board.
Having an iPad will make it much easier for me to write on it while moving around the room. I believe the iPad will tremendously change my teaching because I am able to be mobile instead of standing at the front of the room on the board or computer.
The students are also able to display their work or write on the iPad for the whole class to see quickly, without having to get up and come to the front of room.
I also travel between campuses and rooms this year, so only having to stick the iPad in my bag to move, instead of packing up my whole document camera and cords each time, would be a huge time saver!
