Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kindergarten is awesome! My students are very eager to learn more and more every day. They are extremely curious and they love to read and engage in Math! I am a Kindergarten, bilingual teacher at a school where most of our students are struggling readers and are one or more years below grade level in reading.

It is my number one priority to get my students reading on grade level, or above and to give them a strong Math foundation so that they are well prepared for first grade.

I am at a low socioeconomic school where many of our students have tremendous learning gaps. Many of our students have difficult home lives, so it is extremely important to provide them with a safe, caring, and positive learning environment.

My Project

All of these materials will be used for math workstations and whole group instruction. Guided math will be a huge part of our daily routine and having fun in engaging workstations is imperative for student growth.

All of these materials will allow my students to be hands on in their math learning.

The Magnetic Math Activity Tins will help in reviewing several objectives such as counting and shape identification. The play dough will be used for our representing numbers mats that we have. Having the Giant Geometric Shapes, the 3-D Geometric Shapes Tub and the Geometry Light-Up Activity Center will be used as math workstations and for teaching the unit of 3-D shapes. This will greatly increase their comprehension during this upcoming unit! The Count and Link will be used as another workstation to review number sense and the Pop and Add to 20 game will help them practice joining (addition).

I know my students will greatly appreciate and love these materials!
