My Project

The requested materials, an iPad, calculator and headphones, will aid me and my students in closing the learning gaps created in mathematics. Students have encountered many difficulties since the pandemic began in 2020, and core subjects such as reading and math have been no exception.

The project's outcome will support high-risk 6th-grade students with grade-level mathematics and foundational fluency.

However, it is tough to intervene with struggling students in a class of twenty-five students. This year I plan to keep a few students after school two days a week to attend what I'm calling Math Boot Camp. In this program, they will be assisted with their multiplication facts, long division, as well as with grade-level mathematics and many other areas.

Although I will be conducting math tutoring after school with a group of 7 to 10 students several times a week, all of the resources and incentives mentioned in the project will be utilized with the other 50 students whom I instruct daily.

I believe that every student can learn and want to be helped, they just need our support doing it.
