My Students

We are a public charter school, Title I school, and the majority of our students come from low income to average families. The students receive free breakfast and lunch from school and many do not have monies to purchase their school supplies needed for school each year. Our school funding is very limited for classroom resources. We have an older school, and I would love to bring new technologies and resources to my students. In order to make this possible, I need help from DonorsChoose, and donors like you.

We are a community-based K-12 school and have about an 83% Native American population.

We aim to blend learning and culture in our classrooms. Students in my classroom work very hard and come to school eager to learn every day. There's nothing more motivating than to see students walk in with a big smile and positive attitude every morning. Our students are faced with many struggles at home, so when they come to school, I want them to feel their best. I want my students to have the same opportunities as other students. They are very willing and motivated to learn, however we lack many resources that other schools have.

My Project

Students need support from home as well as in the classroom. This project will increase the involvement with families and their involvement in their child's education.

The Family Engagement Innovators Program is designed for teachers in grades 3 to 8, with a particular focus on Math, ELA and Science teachers.

The program includes three hands-on online professional development sessions plus access to Family Playlists via a free yearlong subscription to PowerMyLearning.

Students and families will have the opportunity to practice what we are learning in the classroom at home, and will have access to tutorials and videos for explanations about math practices.
