Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I teach a Resource Room in a TItle I area. The students range from kindergarten to fifth grade. Majority of my kids cannot recognize letters, sounds or even numbers. Hopefully putting these in their hands will give them a chance to hear the letter, see the letter and relate it to objects that start with that letter.

Teaching sounds of letters especially to bi-lingual students is difficult even when done in Spanish, but hearing the letters in english is even more foreign to the students.

Hopefully seeing the letters and numbers will help them visualize so they can understand.
