My Project

I am a new teacher in an inner city high school. Most of these students come from nothing and do not feel a lot of value or worth. I tell my students I am their "at school mom". I am here to keep them safe, make sure they are heard, and feel important.

I am asking for the following items for the following reasons...

The pens- these are tools the students need to use but the teachers do not supply. I want to be able to give these to my students to set them up for success!

The color printer- there is only a black and white printer in our school. I have a college transition class where students are creating essays and items to submit to colleges. Having color in worksheets or anything students are given draws their attention in and makes them interested. I want to bring this attention to my students and also allow them to connect to this printer to use for resumes, applications, essays, etc.

The bins- there is no where in my room for students to place their folders when they come in. I would like to make a section for each class I teach where they can go to their bin and get their supplies to start the day in my class.

The cabinet that locks- I emphasize that IT LOCKS because there is not one item in my room that locks. I have some of my students come to me asking if I can hold onto their stuff because people steal it and I want to offer them a place to lock up things that are important.
