Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My class has the potential to become great writers given the right conditions and materials. They have not had rigorous writing lessons and this year they will be expected to write at or above their grade level. They are in need of visual aids to help them complete this task.

Given the right inspiration that these materials will inspire, I know that I can help bring out the writers in all of my students. The students need to understand how important good writing is in the grand scheme of communication and the impact good writing can have on the world.

The bright colors of the Take It to Your Seat Centers will allow the advanced students to work independently while I help struggling writers in small groups. The Magnetic Tub of letters will be used on a magnetic board for students to unscramble vocabulary words in less than two minutes while Cameo's Word-Up is playing. Students will have to use the word in a sentence. The Super Sentence Pocket chart will be used to teach the students prerequisite writing skills. The students will understand what a sentence is before they can engage in writing. I will add movement and music to create exciting lessons that they will look forward to doing. The Roll and Write Word Game will allow the children to have fun while they are learning new skills. The spelling kit will help the students master spelling words on their grade level. Thus will help them in the conventions portion of their writing. The students will develop interest in writing different types of genres with the help of these new materials provided by strangers who have shown an interest in their academic well-being.

A few interested donors will make a world of difference to my students in helping them to develop life-long writing skills. They will be able to write things at a level they never imagined. I will guide these young students to become the first in our school to publish a book. That is my goal for this year and with your help, my students will make it a reality.
