Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Starting the year off with all of our classroom materials is important. On the first day of school students carefully and creatively label and decorate their notebooks and folders with new markers and colored pencils. Students imagine the neat things they'll collect in their folders and the inspiring words they'll write in their notebooks.

Students' folders and notebooks are the keepers of their precious thinking and ongoing learning, something worth capturing from day one.

Each day they will collect ideas, keep track of new information, experiment with writing and numbers, and feel safe to take risks.

My students are extremely creative and their ideas spill off of their pages, both in English and Spanish. I thank you in advance for giving my students a place to house their brilliance.
