My Project
My students are eager to learn science and complete various projects! This year as our school expands our brand new STEM program, I'd like to integrate more science into our curriculum. The materials requested in this project are part of the science curriculum that I am working on designing this summer. To me, it's important that everything we do in the STEM room is hands-on and fun! That's how kids learn best and this is research proven! Since it's still summertime, I am only beginning the early stages of drafting the curriculum for 5th grade!
Science is a subject that has to be taught in a hands-on and fun way, research has shown that when kids do, they LEARN!
I am requesting storage bins, balloons, baking soda, and vinegar as part of our chemistry unit. The storage bins will help keep different grade level curriculums stored neatly and efficiently. The other materials are things that I go through fairly quickly especially since I see multiple grade levels a day and across the week. By keeping these materials on hand, the kids will always be able to do hands-on experiments.
