This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are creative, energetic, and love hands-on activities. They like to be challenged. They have a love of the real world and often discuss how what we are learning in class can relate to the world and their lives. They come to school every day ready to learn and grow.

Many of the students in my class struggle to come to school with the supplies they need to learn.

Despite their personal challenges, they also struggle with learning challenges. My students work hard and persevere. They strive to achieve and keep their dreams at the forefront of their minds.

My Project

My students will begin the school year with remote learning. They need to have access to manipulatives and materials to help them learn and follow along during remote instruction.

My students thrive with hands-on learning, which can be achieved with these materials.

The math manipulatives such as the fraction sets, tens frames, and counters will allow students to solve mathematical problems along with me as we learn virtually. My students need these materials to provide a hands-on learning experience. The whiteboards and markers will allow students to complete practice problems along with me and show me their work.
