My students enjoy reading, but lack the resources to purchase books on their own. I work in an inner city school where most, if not all, of my students receive free or reduced lunch.

My students enjoy reading, but we do not have novels that are not curriculum-related. My students are interested in reading novels that discuss "coming of age" stories. This year, my juniors take the PSSAs, which is a test given to high school juniors. In order for my seniors to succeed with the test, they need to continue to read and write at home.

My class is in need of novels with subjects that my students can readily relate to. I firmly believe that reading independently will help my students increase their comprehension skills and help them succeed on their PSSAs.

You will make it possible for my students to read independently at home and during Sustained Silent Reading time at school.
