My Students

My students love math! They love using the dry erase boards to do math but we can't use them anymore because our dry erase markers have dried out. They also love to graph but they have to share protractors since most of the ones we have are broken. Help us keep the love!

My students are wonderful!

They are 8th graders taking either Algebra or Algebra Readiness. They attend an inner city school in California. They enjoy learning math especially when they can use resources other than pencil and paper. They really love using the dry erase boards to show their work because its different from what they do in the other classes they have.

My Project

In my math class, practice usually makes perfect. The more my students can practice, the better they seem to do. My students love practicing their math on the whiteboards. They feel like they are the teachers when they use the whiteboards and like showing their classmates what they have done. We have plenty of whiteboards but no markers to write on them. The whiteboards just sit there. They can learn anything and everything on the whiteboards and I would love to be able to use them again. We also need more protractors because we use them often to graph linear equations and the ones we have are being held together by tape. I also like to have extra spiral notebooks around so that when a student needs one I can give them one. All the extra ones I bought in the summer are gone.

These little things will mean a lot to them. They are all things that will enhance their learning and help them practice, graph and take notes so they can succeed in either Algebra or Algebra Readiness.
