Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in the same high school where I was a student myself a decade ago. I know from first-hand experience the struggles many of my students face. Our community is beautiful because of its diversity, however, a huge challenge is the poverty that is also present.

I can sincerely say I admire every single one of my students because, despite the personal challenges many of them have at home, they know that in my classroom they are safe.

I promise my students that although I may not be able to solve all their issues, I can provide them with a classroom that is a caring and a learning environment for them.

My Project

Project Based Learning is a way a fun and engaging kind of learning. My students work on tons of projects throughout the school year after readings, research, and analysis. They need materials in order to complete their assignments and put their critical thinking skills creative visuals.

Many students appreciate these type of assignments because it them the opportunity to be creative and analytical all at once.

Some examples of our various assignments include visual analysis after readings, creating small small after research, and timelines to certain lessons. Moreover, my students also create an interactive notebook throughout the year. This interactive notebook replaces the traditional textbook most courses utilize.
