My Project

These courses will give me many strategies and tools to enhance my professional growth as an interventionist. By exploring universal screening, explicit and systematic instruction, and evidence-based approaches to teaching whole and rational numbers, I will deepen my understanding of how to meet the diverse needs of my students. Learning to effectively teach basic facts, use visual aids, tackle word problems, and monitor progress ensures I can address critical gaps in student learning while maintaining a clear, structured approach. Focusing on motivational strategies will also help me create a more positive and engaging learning environment.

I will apply what I learn in my classroom by implementing practices that emphasize equity and student engagement.

I will refine my facilitation skills by learning to ask better questions, respond thoughtfully to wrong answers, and annotate student thinking. These techniques will enable me to connect with each student’s unique learning process and build deeper connections across instructional days. Most importantly, my students will benefit from an intervention approach tailored, engaging, and grounded in proven strategies. By fostering a supportive, equitable environment, I will empower my students to overcome challenges and achieve meaningful progress in their mathematical understanding.
