My Students

Do you know what it is like to struggle with math and not understand how to do basic problems? Well many of my students do.

These 3rd and 4th graders are from a small town where few opportunities are present to increase student learning.

They attend a small public school where several classes are combined classes and supplies are limited because of the budget. Most of my students come from low-income homes and have little support in school work at home. They often struggle to maintain understanding of core math concepts because of a lack of practice using them.

My Project

The math centers I am requesting in this project will allow students to practice their math skills all year throughout the school day. Since they are quiet activities that students can do by themselves or with a partner, the centers allow students to utilize all the time they have in class to learn. Instead of waiting for other students to get done with work the students can be actively learning on their own. This is very important in a combined classroom. Math centers will enable my students to internalize the math skills be taught so that they will not fall behind but get ahead in school and life.

By donating to this project, you will be helping my student become better at math and more confident in their ability to function in this wold.

You will not only make school a more enjoyable experience for these children but will also increase their chances in being successful adults. We all know math is used everyday and by supporting this project you will be helping students to improve their daily lives.
