Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Most of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes and eat free or reduced-price school lunch meals on a daily basis. I know music education is helping my students become better human beings and well-rounded citizens of our country. Music is also improving their test scores on state-mandated tests.
My students love the band very much; so much, that the band hall is their second home.
Not just their second home, but also their second family. They are always looking out for each other in any way possible. Regardless of any differences, my band students come together and make incredible music! They work hard, show true dedication, they collaborate and have been successful year after year. They know that it is an honor to be a musician in our band program, and they take it very seriously. So, even though we may not have the best equipment for learning music, they will always try their best. My band students inspire me each and every day with their tenacity, drive, and passion for music. I am truly lucky to be their band director.
My Project
My students need trumpet and trombone mutes to properly perform the most challenging band music available today. Inserting a mute into a trumpet or a trombone produces a unique, lovely sound that still allows the power necessary in large ensembles.
Tom Crown is considered one of the finest mute craftsmen around today.
The products he has developed are top professional level and extremely well manufactured. They produce a unique, lovely sound and still allow the power necessary in large ensembles. Once you try these you will see why they are the professional choice.
Typically, students do not own these items. They are commonly used by multiple students in both concert bands and jazz bands. By having access to school-owned mutes, my students can correctly master various styles in performing advanced band literature.
