This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hi Everyone. I am a special education teacher for eight amazing young adults. My students work on vocational and functional skills throughout the school year to promote independence. Help me continue this goal while they are quarantined at home. Thank You!

My Project

My students thrive when given the opportunity to cook. Throughout the school year, students work in various programs to learn functional skills to help build independence. By funding this project, you will help them master basic kitchen skills to use at home during remote learning. The students will each be given a “chef box” with utensils and breakfast food to create meals. Each day the students will follow a recipe as a group and showcase their MasterChef creation at the end of the activity. These skills will help them to gain confidence and understand food safety while cooking at the comfort of their own home.
