My Project

My students need scales to measure mass and calculate density!

Our school has a few old bulky triple beam balances, but some are broken, and these compact digital scales will make these labs and lessons so much more accessible to every student in the room.

I hope you will help us with these much-needed supplies. We are coming up on our density unit now and will be solving a mystery of whether or not the King of Sicily's (King Hieron II) crown was really made of gold or if the blacksmith cheated him! Students will get a sample of the crown and measure its mass and volume, then solve for density and compare that number to Gold's known density. Did the goldsmith slip some silver in and pocket the gold or himself? We'll find out! But only with these scales!
