My students this year are Freshmen who are extremely motivated. They love to use language in the classroom and have fun speaking French even outside of the classroom. We enjoy using Flipgrid and other online platforms for speaking practice.
These highly motivated students inspire me to give it all my all everyday.
Our class is very diverse and made up of students from the Caribbean, Europe, Canada and the United States. Being from the Caribbean myself, I encourage them to make the class a community where we respect and appreciate our differences. French is something new and different for them all and together we strive for excellence. We celebrate all our accomplishments everyday.
They love French and enjoy the class. I would like help this year in securing a new laminating machine to help us create colorful flashcards for their use in class. This will facilitate their speaking in Target Language. It would make them so happy and when they are happy and motivated, it makes the class ambiance so much more wonderful!
My Project
Due to the ongoing pandemic, we are required to wear face masks all day, every day in the school building. Many times teaching and learning are interrupted by students losing a mask, or a mask bursting. Students must then leave the room to procure a new mask from the dean’s office. To help alleviate this problem, I’m trying to have masks available in the classroom, to avoid interruptions and need to leave the room. With your help, I am hoping to promote continuous learning in a safe and protected environment moving forward!
