This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are inquisitive and willing to take healthy mathematical risks in class. They are mathematicians who are curious about the world and how math connects to the everyday world. Funding this project will allow my students to to make connections to their world and understand how it connects to math.
My students are from the Lower East Side community; this neighborhood is rich with culture and multitude of ethnicities.
If this project is funded my diverse students will have access to materials that will enrich their learning. Often times math requires diagrams and images that connect to the problem. If we were to have a printer in the classroom, students will be able to use visuals, to increase mathematical understanding.
Diagrams and visuals can assist all different learners. My students come from a community where there is resource inequity and by providing a printer you allowing my students to achieve their goals.
