My Students

As a math teacher, I get to work with entire grade levels by co-teaching lessons and working with small groups of students. My students are extremely hard working and come into math with a positive attitude. I have worked to instill a growth mindset in my students. This has helped students be open to learning new content and trying new strategies. Despite any challenges students may be facing, they demonstrate perseverance and give their absolute best.

My students are a diverse group who have endured a pandemic and thrive off of interaction and hands-on experiences.

My students are more engaged and demonstrate a stronger understanding of the content when hands-on or visuals are used. The students especially enjoy learning through inquiry, games, and working with peers.

My Project

Students are eager to return to school and the interaction it provides. Part of school is building understanding by doing and being hands-on. Due to the current pandemic, we need materials for every students to have their own set of manipulatives for math lessons in an organized fashion. This will allow me to provide and organize materials for each student to have their own math tool kit.

This project will allow us to print 100s charts, number lines, and much more on cardstock that will last throughout the year.

The ziplock bags will allow students to have their own math toolkit that can be used throughout the unit without the need to share materials others have used. This project also provides classes with two-sided whiteboards, allowing students to interact with the math without the need for copies and handouts.
