My Project

Adding a manga section to our high school library is a unique opportunity to engage a diverse range of students, promote literacy, and enhance cultural understanding. Manga, with its dynamic and visually appealing storytelling format, has the potential to attract reluctant readers and make reading a more enjoyable and accessible activity. Many students are already fans of manga and anime, and providing access to these materials in the library would bridge the gap between their personal interests and academic pursuits. This can encourage a positive relationship with reading, foster a love for literature, and improve overall literacy rates. Additionally, manga often tackles complex themes and narratives that can enhance critical thinking skills and broaden students' perspectives.

Incorporating manga into our library collection supports inclusivity and multicultural education.

Manga originates from Japan, and its addition to the library introduces students to a different culture's artistic and literary traditions. This not only enriches students' understanding of the world but also promotes cultural appreciation and awareness. By offering a diverse array of reading materials, including manga, we can ensure that all students find representation and connection in their school's library.
