Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials in this project will help make our classroom amazing. I have phenomenal students who are on a wide range of the spectrum, from autism to traumatic brain injury to intellectual disabilities. My students require a lot of repetition and visuals, which is where a laminator will come in handy because they will always be able to use any resource that is laminated, no printing or waiting needed. They also benefit from headphones, as they can get overwhelmed with everything going on around them.

Coming from a low-income community, we lack basic resources in our classroom to complete everyday tasks.

This includes pencils, erasers, and crayons, as well as stickers. Students love having stickers tailored to what they like, so we create our own stickers and print them out on sticker paper.

My students are extraordinary, but a lack of resources can make it hard for them to learn and retain information. Students require anchor charts hung up in the room for their visual learning, and they have shown they learn best when they can just grab an anchor chart from a hanger on the wall and hang it closer to their desks. My goal for this project is to be able to push my students to their full potential by having the resources that they need to improve their education. The items requested will help improve student memory and visual learning, help make hands-on activities for them that are laminated, improve classroom organization, and bring color to their work. It will make our classroom pop and stand out!
