Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are requesting support for our sixth grade students initiative aimed at spreading what they are learning about financial literacy to all their school peers in the lower grades and family members and family friends through their creation of a Financial Literacy Club and Financial Literacy Family Fun Day. They are learning about Wall Street and are participating in the online Stock Market Simulation Game. They have immersed themselves in The Stock Market Game. This engagement not only provides an interactive learning experience but also lays the foundation for financial literacy initiative within our student community. The Stock Market board/card games will be used in enhancing financial literacy by our students as they continue to learn and become ambassadors in spreading this knowledge to the school community, family members and their friends on their Family Fun Day and Financial Literacy Club Time with the other grades in the school which they will organize and lead.

These board/card games offer valuable lessons in financial literacy in various ways to our entire community.

They involve trading, creating a very simplified elementary representation of how the stock market works, teaching them basic economic principles. Players and their peers must communicate effectively, persuading others to trade with them while trying to discern their opponents' strategies.

Our students will share their knowledge with their peers in the other grades and family members and friends by organizing a board/card game play Financial Literacy Club and Family Fun time. This peer-to-peer exchange during, Financial Literacy Club time and Family Fun Day, will create a ripple effect, extending the benefits of financial literacy throughout our community also encouraging team work and cooperation. This initiative encourages students to share their financial knowledge with peers and family members during Family Night and Club time.This makes it a project that encompasses literacy and community service.
