Help Mrs. Lawrence

I teach 7-12 vocal music in a high-need community (high percentage of free and reduced and high percentage of Special Ed students).

It is very difficult to teach to large classes without a way to reach the visual learners. Our school cannot afford a real marker board, AND we don't have wall space to hang one. Students not only need to hear music, they need to be able to see it. If students attend college for music, they need to be able to recognize music symbols and draw them. I need to be able to demonstrate those things visually. I want my students prepared for college if they choose to go into the wonderful field of music!

With a free standing marker board, I will be able to draw notes, rhythms, dynamic markings, and other musical ideas for the students to see visually. We can also play music games as a class with the marker board.

Your support will help my students get visual learning and some hands on experience with musical technique. This will enable differentiated learning for all types of students. This project could finally open their eyes to music and it's importance in life.
