Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Reading print books is making a comeback with the students of Mark Twain! When polled, the majority of our students in grades 6 through 8 prefer reading print books. As students visit the library during the school day looking for books, they need a way to access the library catolog which is completely digital.

Stationary iPad kiosks placed around the library will facilitate access to the library catalog for our students.

The current tech equipment in the library is not capable of supporting the system needed access library catalog, which means that if students want to look up specific titles, authors, or genres, they need to go through the librarian.

The iPad kiosks will not only allow students more independence in searching for books, but will also allow the librarian to circulate more and interact with a larger number of students during class visits to the library.
