Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Through this school year, our scholars have made great progress in their ability to use strategies to read tricky words. However, they are still struggling with their fluency, which is the ability to read smoothly and with expression. This is also making it difficult for them to understand what they are reading. In order to motivate and encourage our students to read aloud, we have decided to do a Read-A-Thon where scholars will record themselves reading 100 books on their tablets and submitting it to their teachers. Our goal is for each scholar to record themselves reading 100 books by the end of March. If our goal is met we want to host a Glow in the Dark ELA party celebrating their achievement! They will participate in fun ELA games and activities using these Glow in the Dark materials.
