My Project

My students love to learn and practice new things, especially those they see on tv or clips on YouTube. In and around March the playground is always buzzing with basketball talk as students are hearing and or seeing March Madness around them. Unfortunately, most of my students are unable to fully participate in and practice basketball skills, because of the standard equipment available. Because traditional basketballs are too heavy and traditional hoops on campus are too high, my students with disabilities, often loose interest in basketball once we get to shooting practice.

With modified basketball hoops and balls, I will be able to provide more opportunities for success, for all ability levels of students.

The items in this project specifically target the wide range of ability levels in my classes. They will allow me to provide engaging basketball practice, to further encourage and nurture basketball skills, for all learners.
