My Project

This project aims to enrich students' understanding of geography by using engaging maps of the United States and the world, alongside interactive games like Connect Four and Battleship. These tools provide a dynamic approach to learning, turning complex geographical concepts into fun, interactive experiences.

The maps of the US and the world will serve as foundational tools for students to explore geographical locations, political boundaries, natural features, and cultural landmarks.

By visualizing these on a map, students will gain a deeper understanding of the world around them and develop essential skills such as map reading, spatial awareness, and the ability to make connections between places. In addition to traditional maps, games like Battleship and Connect Four will add an exciting, hands-on approach. These games encourage strategic thinking and spatial reasoning, as students will need to recognize coordinates, distances, and locations on a grid, all of which are key components of geographical understanding.

What makes our students unique is their curiosity and passion for learning. They come from diverse backgrounds, and many are eager to explore the world beyond their local communities. For these students, geography isn't just a subject—it's a window into understanding the broader world and their place within it. Many of our students face unique challenges, but their resilience, enthusiasm, and desire to succeed make them a truly exceptional group. This project will provide them with the tools to better understand the world around them, build essential skills, and foster a sense of global citizenship that will stay with them for years to come. With your support, we can make this learning experience a reality for these bright, determined students.

Mrs. Taylor will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by July 19.
