My Students

I have a wonderful 2nd-grade class! They are kind, thoughtful, and love to learn together as a small community. They come to school ready to learn and to brave the new experiences ahead of them. In second grade we have the saying "Practice Makes Better" and we are always practicing phonics, math facts, science, and phonemic awareness. Students work really hard each day with comprehension, phonics, and fluency as they read picture and beginning chapter books. They love to have hands-on experience with numbers and shapes as they focus on math standards.

My Project

The materials I have chosen will make a difference in my students' learning. First, I have items that will be used for our Treasure Box, which students can pick from each time they earn 8 STARS.

I have also asked for small seat cushions for the floor as students Read to Self on the floor.

The small cushions can be cleaned for multiple uses. The cushions will keep students engaged as they read to themselves or do paired reading.

I have also chosen headphones for my students. We use these daily for different programs. There are also some organization tools that will help me keep my classroom organized.
